Mainly around three components:

• mathematics has been a central part of human experience and growth from the very beginning. It is certainly not an occidental thing and it should not be a monopoly of specific groups or professions.
• We have accumulated many times more new mathematical knowledge in the last fifty years than during all previous humanoid history. And it is going on.
• mathematics does not reduce sensation, experience, feeling, memory, expressiveness... and does not reduce itself to numbers. It is something to be done, lived, laughed at and exchanged as well as thought and studied.

So we should try to break the artificial ghettos, the prejudices, the entertained fears.

Make your neighbours realize they use already considerably more mathematics than they think, realize that they are mathematicians. And that a lot more is just waiting for them. Compliment of a thousand years old community.
