It is with great enthusiasm for the new year and the potential that it brings for impacting our world that I begin this thread. 

Better World Island has gone through a transitional year in 2006.  
It was a facinating year, the birth of Camp Darfur, the griefing incident, the growth of Manor Meta, The Peace and Justice Center, Center for Water Studies, Integral Island, Half an Apple Project, Care.org lab, and Gardens of Hope. We faced the challange of our creator and mentor Sue having to minimize her role because of health issues, and my own long absence to Africa.

We met and impacted thousands of people through our exhibits and interaction and had an amazing amount of press coverage for Camp Darfur.  We have made new friends and allies and discovered that the ways we can grow and learn seem to be limitless.

In the next few weeks, I will be posting about our purpose, focus, leadership structure, and short and long term goals.  I encourage you to post your thoughts, critiques, ideas, and brainstorms. Although Better World is a privately owned island, it is the child of Omidyar network dreams and hopes, and to reach its potential it will need each one of us.
