The Global Peace Tiles Project is truly global right now; it's here, there and at http://beta.razoo.com/groups/pea cetiles
Come over and have a look - it's a GREAT space with many other fabulous projects happening.
Sign up and join the Global Peace Tiles Project.
If Lars gets 100 members signed up....... well, you'll have to go over to razoo to find out what happens then :)

Hey Gayle, you are a champion - thank you! I've just been playing around with the "soapbox" feature aka blog. apparently, one can import blog entries. problem seems to be how the o.net atom feed is configured:
- my wordpress feed looks like this: feed://http//mixedmedia.us/feed/
- an o.net feed looks like this:
http://www.omidyar.net/group/pea cetiles/news/44/atom.xml
Razoo likes wordpress to look like: http://mixedmedia.us/feed/
Not sure what the O.net hack would be... Thomas or Haney (or anyone), any ideas?

Thanks for starting this conversation Gayle.
Razoo's Change Your World Contest
Razoo is an innovative new web platform that is actively engaging individuals and organizations to mobilize a new generation for social change. At Razoo, we are putting all our resources behind our mission of empowering and inspiring individuals for positive social change - and to celebrate our initial Launch, we are hosting a $10,000 contest for organizations to help us build a global community for social change!
Contest Details
- Who: non-profits and other social cause groups
- What: A $10,000 prize your organization can win
- Why: To create awareness, community, and action around important social issues
- When: August 1st - September 15th
- How: Create a Razoo Group and recruit at least 100 members to join by September 15th and you will be eligible to win the $10,000 prize!
The Change Your World Contest is an opportunity for social change organizations and groups to win $10,000 and publicity for your work! Any social change organization that creates a Razoo Group and recruits at least 100 members to join by September 15th will be entered into the Change Your World Contest. The Razoo community will then vote for its favorite organization to select the winner of the contest. The prize is a $10,000 donation to your organization, and a high-profile online campaign built around your issues and work!
All sounding kinda' familiar? Now that we are graduating from O'net let's put our hard earned education to the test. Peace Tiles is currently the #7 most popular group; we can make it #1 in very short order and have some meaningful, constructive conversations around Peace Tiles World AIDS Day 2007.

Awesome - thank you Gayle! We need 100 "new" members too, and some of the Peace Tiles members are existing Razoo users. So come along, if you haven't already :)

O.K. in haste and in straight-up, BS-free language, Lars :)
Do you know the split?
100 - [32 - existing razooies] = target number of newbie razooies to be contacted
Sign up to Razoo and the Global Peace Tiles Project
It would be great to have the "100" before September 15th so this project is eligible for consideration of the 10K grant; and if you tell just one friend and ask them to join you - THIS INITIAL GOAL would be COMPLETED really easily :)

Lars
It's midnight here and I've been up since 5am so I'm going to leave the fine print examination up to you BUT where does it say "new" members in the 10K grant page?
My reading is that you have to sign up 100 members to a new group.
I might have just misread it (quite likely!).... but worth checking up on?
Night all :)

You read it the way I did Gayle:
INVITE YOUR FRIENDS to join your group
- Use the "Recruit Others" Tool in your group to either invite Razoo friends or import your email address book to recruit non-Razoo-ers (using the links in the "Recruit Others" Tool)
- Get at least 100 members to join your group by September 15th in order to qualify for the Change Your World contest!
The site has gotten really sluggish since the onslaught of onet people! It took me over an hour to make the group. I kept getting a message that the server was either down for maintenance or was overloaded. Since the site was working, I am guessing overload.

From the contest description:
- Any social change organization that creates a Razoo Group and recruits at least 100 members to join by September 15th will be entered into the Change Your World Contest.
My interpretation would be that the members don't necessarily need to be new Razoo members, just new members to the group, no?
Beyond recruiting a 100 members, for the voting process, I think it would be helpful to have some meaningful, constructive discussion around a topic. Lars, what is your most immediate need for Peace Tiles at the moment?

Great question Meron! Most immediate need: get people excited about doing Peace Tiles on World AIDS Day 2007! People can:
- Make tiles
- Exchange them
- Contribute them to murals
- Use them in local murals
What do you think....?

I think Peace Tiles World AIDS Day 2007 is an excellent place to start!
I'm out for the day catching up on the work that didn't get done while I was away. If someone hasn't started a discussion by this evening I'll see what I can do to get one kicked off.
[Edit: just saw that you started something. I'll make my contribution later this evening.]

Network Weavers are individuals who take responsibility for creating healthy networks, what we call Smart Networks.
Anyone can learn to be a Network Weaver but natural Network Weavers have at least some of the following characteristics. Are you a natural Network Weaver?
- Opportunity seeking: sees opportunities everywhere
- Loves to connect people to each other
- Able to unearth resources of all types and kinds
- Able to remember many names and resources
- Able to dialogue easily with people and get them to disclose information
- Comfortable with uncertainty but persistent in making things happen
- Able to learn from experience; decides next step after reflecting on previous step
- Optimistic
- Able to see when something doesn’t work and moves on
- Has a big vision but sees the importance of taking small steps
- Likes to get to know people with different perspectives and from different backgrounds
- Listens well
- Asks a lot of questions
- Sees patterns—notices patterns in the network: where there is energy, where there is isolation, who interacts with whom, etc
