What good things have happened or are happening as a result of a connection or catalyzing by Michael Maranda?

Deep gratitude to Michael for all he has done for so many which could never be captured completely, yet we seek to honor him with acknowledgment as we can.

Please indicate if the story relates to something specific (a group or person), as that will help with weaving the stories together later.

Simply put, I would not be part of Onet without Michael Maranda (or Phil Cubeta). So any good things that I might be related to through this network are related to him. Michael held my hand, coaxed me through my initial posts and threads, and in general championed me as I started here. Since that time, overly nearly two years, Michael has continued to be a source of constant support and encouragement. He has challenged me to think deeply and completely about a wide range of topics from technology to philanthropy to youth and generational issues. He has joined the boards for two of my favorite nonprofits, Catalytic Communities and Grass Commons. And I know that his touch will be felt through the work that they both do.

Michael your reach is network wide and immeasurable. Thank you.

As I have traveled and met with folks from across this wide network of Onet, I have heard again and again how Michael welcomed them and offered assistance. I look forward to hearing their stories too!

Michael Maranda welcomed me to o/net less than three months ago; we have never met, yet I feel an "old-soul" connection to him. Our first communication was about tikkun olam and I was impressed and moved by his knowledge and Talmudic understanding of the phrase and concept. Subsequently, Michael has continued to inspire me - a model o/net citizen - if you will.

As I have only encountered Michael via written words, what clearly comes across to me is compassion, insight, intelligence, humanity, above-the-fray attention, sincerity, gentle firmness, fairness and stewardship.

Thank you Michael for being an inspiration and I am grateful for your continued presence and guidance.

I enjoy Michael's untiring efforts to help make this place as welcoming as it can be. He does a lot of heavy lifting tech and networking-wise behind the scenes, which has moved some vital efforts forward. And hey, if he's responsible for Jean being here then enough said.

Michael is one of the building blocks and support structures of this network. He is just about the first person that everyone on here meets. He is warm, welcoming, and supportive. He is knowledgeable and more than willing to share his insight even if it isn't really what you wanted to hear (but later realize was spot on).

The amazing thing was to meet him in person because he is exactly the same. He is truly an amazing man. Thanks, Michal for making this place we kind of call home such a warm and friendly place.

Michael has a gentleness of spirit and ferocity of mind that's rare. He's one of the brightest and most curious people I've met in recent years; I like his sense of humor most when quietly watching open space go by.
