See that little white band up in the corner of this page?
It's a virtual version of the "Make Poverty History" wrist band, and you can steal it from me if you promise to pass it on ;^)
Here's the secret decoder ring:
.. raw:: html
<script
type="text/javascript"
src="http://www.makepovertyhistory.org/whiteband_small_right.js">
</script>
<noscript>
<a href="http://www.makepovertyhistory.org/">
http://www.makepovertyhistory.org</a>
</noscript>
Place that code anywhere in the body of a web page document, or even in your profile, a workspace, or a posting, and Presto! You've got your own white wristband too.
Now what's the big deal?
Click the white band in the top corner of this page to find out for yourself. Then be sure to order a "real" one to go with it to spread a little more infectious good.
Let's Make Poverty History in our lifetime!
Pass it on ...
Sue.

You rock, Mr. T. :^)
Hey! How did you get your's over the left corner? I wish I could do that with mine so that it doesn't interfere with the search box and profile settings on omidyar.net pages.
Do tell ...

tada! (to view in left corner only, view this comment by itself). Am I gonna get in trouble for futzing with the logo? To do this, just change the image url to end in ..."_small_left.js"

Here be the code for the left handed wrist band for all ye right-brained artsy types ;^)
.. raw:: html
<script
type="text/javascript"
src="http://www.makepovertyhistory.org/whiteband_small_left.js">
</script>
<noscript>
<a href="http://www.makepovertyhistory.org/">
http://www.makepovertyhistory.org</a>
</noscript>
And the right-hand for ye left-brain intellectuals:
.. raw:: html
<script
type="text/javascript"
src="http://www.makepovertyhistory.org/whiteband_small_right.js">
</script>
<noscript>
<a href="http://www.makepovertyhistory.org/">
http://www.makepovertyhistory.org</a>
</noscript>
Do you think by the logic that ensues in the name of javascript it calls that I could have figured that one out on my own? Apparently not ...

Hmmm... just found this. Was wondering what was up with the "wrist band" over my search tool. Thought it was a spam pop up at first...
And, while I think the intention and even the cause is online, I do need to ask if any one else wondered if it was spam at first... I saw it before I knew it was you and felt annoyed by it. I really dislike popups!
What makes one okay and not another?
How come mine appeared on my screen even though I didn't write the code anywhere?
Written with the best of intentions...

Hi, Julie :^)
The bracelet only appears on the pages where someone has placed the code in a comment there.
I can understand your thinking it was spam. As for what makes one okay and not the other, I don't know. I guess that's a personal thing. I know I really dislike pop-ups myself, and on the occasion that I do anything that blatantly deviates from that, it's usually only where I know that it's being seen by people that know me, and when it's something I feel is important to share more boldly.
We got the code for the band to appear on the left instead of the right because the latter does interfere with the search tool as you mentioned.
It shows up on both sides here because of the way it's been embedded into the comments.

What about bottom, left? Can we do that instead? Then it won't interfere with anything that can't be scrolled around.

Search works fine ... if one uses the keyboard <ENTER> method.

I just took the code for the right-hand band down. People can still use it on their own web sites or other pages by using the code shared at the top of the page.
Haven't come across a version that enables bottom display yet. So far only top.
