| Online Community Learning | A cross-cultural eXperience from LifeInAfrica on Onet

This Onet group is where Life in Africa's Internet4Change trainees in Uganda gather online to receive, discuss, help each other and get help from others on i4c learning team assignments. Discussion threads, polls and workspaces are used for joint work on team assignments. Active trainee participation in this group is a requirement for earning i4c certification.

There are now 5 i4c Learning Teams:

1. Micro-Success!

The Micro-Success team learning to connect our community members to online opportunities to improve their livelihoods thru Kiva, fundraising campaigns and product sales.

2. PieceTrain

This team is learning to connect our community's ideas and eXperiences to the rest of the online world thru group and individual blogs that tell our members' stories.

3. LiA 4 Uganda

The LiA 4 Uganda team is learning to find information on the internet that is useful and relevant to our communties in Uganda. Our topic of research during the first 4 month season of 2007 is family health.

4. Childhoods in Africa

This team of CIA adults on Onet supervises computer learning workshops for the Breakfast Club member children at WE Center Gulu. We need links to good community sites we can introduce the children to!

5. African Market Day

AMD is a monthly simultaneous event at both of Life in Africa's WE Centers in Uganda. This learning team explores how to best share information before and after the event regarding payments, group production outputs and inventory, using management tools that are available on Onet and elsewhere online.

Onet community members who are willing to help us learn how to connect our community members here - and to other communities online - is most welcome to join and participate in this group, to support one or more of our learning teams.
