Arthur Brock is a board member of an existing but defunct organization known as the Colorado Internet Keiretsu that has 501(c)(6) status with the IRS. Arthur has proposed that this organization become Mile High BALLE.

Arthur, can you tell us what the status is with that proposal?

I need to call a CIK board meeting for the board to entertain the request from the new BALLE leadership. At the last meeting everybody was amenable to it, but wanted to be sure it was handed off to new leadership that was actually going to make something happen.

I think we need to identify our leaders (board, officers, staff?) and business model and present it. I could call a meeting and we could use that as a deadline for getting our act together on these things.

At that meeting, if it is approved, the CIK board would approve the name change and adopt the new bylaws. Then according to our new bylaws, we'd install the new leadership.

Suggestions?

Thanks for the update Arthur. I will take another look at the Bylaws to identify the requirements and propose a sequence of events.

Pursuant to Article III of the Bylaws, You would need to send at least 24 hours hours notice of the meeting, if notice is by e-mail (three days if by mail), and you would need at least 4 Directors at the meeting to constitute a quorum.

Section 3.10 of the Bylaws would also allow the meeting to be held by conference call.
