This week the House is in conference with the Senate regarding the FYO6 Emergency Spending Supplemental (HR 4939) which means they are hashing out their differences in order to come up with an identical conference report that can be voted on and then forwarded to the President.

Various cuts are being made so that funding does not exceed $94.5 billion. Apparently the President will veto a bill that is higher.

It is urgent that we contact the following members of Congress who have been appointed as conferees for HR 4939 and ask them to include a total of $173 million for the African Union Mission in Sudan (AMIS) and $228 million for continued humanitarian assistance to Darfur in the final version of the bill.
