A work in progress ~ life still happens
- Why you? What's the perspective you'd bring to the board?
I have been a member of O'net since the fall of 2004 and since that time have actively participated in a number of initiatives and supported other O'net members with their projects.
- How will you seek input from the rest of the community to make decisions?
By asking questions and listening. But more so, by being asked probing and thought provoking questions so that I can discover my own position. This is one of the things that I have appreciated about O'net and it's members over the years; by you asking questions and sharing I have been moved to discover myself and where I stand. I want that journey to continue.
- Should the current community move as a whole or as multiple sub-communities?
I suspect there will be movement towards multiple sub-communities to meet the technical and focus needs of this diverse community.
- What platform(s) do you recommend people use?
- I would like to see that the community of individuals that feel they need multiple tools have a space that provides all the buttons, knobs, bells, whistles and gizmos that they need/want so that they can get on with the business of making a better world.
- Taking in to consideration the technical challenges of connecting for members in the developing world I'd like to see a space that minimizes those challenges, yet provides the tools necessary to share information.
(Note: these would be separate spaces)
- Do you have views on how future communities should be governed?
As openly as possible.
Nominee Group Affiliations:
O'net groups I am connected to: SOLID (owner), Lost in the FOOD Chain, <ned>, Peace Tiles, Unbelievable Donation, Life in Africa, Stop Genocide Now, Second Life, Better World Island,
Statement of Interest:
I have a vested interest in SOLID. Since joining O'net, as an orgainization and an individual, we/I have enjoyed a supportive relationship with a number of communities and members (see groups I am connected to) discovered here. I'm most concerned with finding a mutually acceptable space where we can continue to collaborate, support each other and move our projects forward.
