I spend a great deal of my time working on the social venture I helped found in 2002. Better World Books (http://www.betterworldbooks.com/ ) capitalizes on the value of used books to fund literacy locally, nationally and around the world. We're especially proud of our current work with Books For Africa, Room to Read, and the campaign to rebuild the New Orleans Public Library. And we do it all with donated books on reused shelving in an old paper plant in Mishawaka, IN. I've been fortunate enough to be able to do my job from our small office in San Francisco, but I still take quite a few trips back to the Midwest.

I love being a citizen of the world, and enjoying the everyday craziness of San Francisco. Music, cycling and friends are my chief non-work interests.
