About

I was introduced a couple years ago as a grey beard in the industry by Barkley Kern (Capitol Advantage). Now it really is turning gray, or at least these 2 rather prominent strands in my tiny goatee... alas... I am really not that old. But I have been deeply involved in the intersection of the internet, politics, and issue advocacy since at least the early 1990's if not the late 1980's. My roots are academic (I was a political science professor for years and am an adjunct political communications professor now) so my view on things always includes a philosophical, what's good for democracy perspective.

I wear a lot of hats. I am Executive Director of the Internet Advocacy Center, Editor of the Moving Ideas Network, Washington Bureau Chief for MBN Studios, Contributing Editor to Politics Online, and blog at DrDigiPol.com and MovingIdeas.org/blog. I taught one of the the nation’s first Internet politics course for six years, starting in 1995, while on the faculty at George Mason University. I was once Vice President for Online Advocacy Service at Stateside Associates and Director of Training Programs for e-advocates. I have a Political Science Ph.D. from American University, a Political Science M.A. from Boston College, and a Political Science and Philosophy B.A. from Tufts University.
