Sorry about being slow to post the news myself. Ted and Jean have already let many people know in their personal profiles or news.
My father won't be posting here anymore as he passed away a few weeks ago somewhat suddenly (3/31/06). Posting the news here brings the tears anew.
In the true spirit of the Information Age, we won't be having a chunk of engraved stone to go visit where his remains are entombed, but rather I will be creating an online memorial site. Those who have known or loved him are welcome to share memories, tributes, thoughts, photos, etc.
Bernie reached into many communities and impacted many lives and this is the only way I've found to be able to give them voice. I'll post a link when it's live.
He very much enjoyed his conversations with the people here and was telling me about the positive feedback he was getting about his book and ideas. Thanks for welcoming him and giving him your respect.

I am so sorry to hear this news Arthur. I only ran across a few of your father's posts but he was very knowledgable and caring in those I read. Best wishes to you in this difficult time.

Thanks for setting up the online memorial space Arthur! I miss him here. He set an astonishingly fine example of a conversationalist. A treasure. And my condolences on your loss.

Thanks so much for you words of support.
I'm quite glad that I introduced my father to O.net. He truly enjoyed so many of his interactions, discussions and relationships that emerged with all of you.

I'm very sorry to hear the news, which I realize is a few months old at this point.
Your father had the most interesting profile of anyone here on the O Net (which isn't a knock on anyone else, just a tribute to his and my interests in political communication). I was truly looking forward to reading his comments.

Arthur,
Death is such an unexplainable pain, when it comes right down to it. At the time of a lost love one, we feel, absolutely no one can feel our pain, no matter if they've lost to death or not. There can be such intense momments of aloneness, that seem to last longer than they do.
This is something that takes time. You can always check in here if, no one happens to be around and you will not be alone!
Peace to you, in your time of hardship and great loss.
In Memory of "BERNARD BROCK"
~Jan~

You can visit Bernie's online memorial here.
I just launched it, so it doesn't have much content yet. Please feel free to contribute some.
