Previous lives...

70's - troubled teen, did a bit of cartooning, graphic arts, gas pumpin', burger flippin', and etc. for gas and food money.

80's - joined the army, travelled to distant exotic lands, met strange new people, etc. Worked variously as SIGINT interceptor/cryptologic linguist, diplomatic courier, VIP escort, and other fun stuff. hated it. loved it. go figure.

90's - entrepreneur living in europe during/after fall of the Evil Empire. made millions (mostly for other people), and lost a few too (mostly my own). learned what it's like to make 8-figure deals over cocktails and where the best places are in helsinki to scavenge empty returnable beer bottles at 3:00 a.m. in january and february. eventually wound up back where i started... (karma? entropy? murphy? me??)

2K's - phoenix rises, or at least tries to. stay tuned...

out of all that, wound up with a LOT of (maybe even too much) life experience (enough for a few lives and an unbelieveable novel or two), a better understanding of what makes the world go 'round (i already knew...but i got to see it 'underlined' in broad, heavy strokes), a few good friends, an ex-wife (and all the attendant fun that goes with obtaining it) a new finnish wife (ditto [grin!]), a gaggle of amazing kids, and a resume that tends to make HR managers and headhunters look at me a bit funny. I always smile back; after all, they're people too...right??. :o)

oh well...!
