The Center for High Impact Philanthropy (CHIP) at the University of Pennsylvania is an innovative new resource center established by Wharton alumni and housed at the School of Social Policy & Practice. Its aim is to meet the information needs of philanthropists seeking to maximize the social impact of their charitable gifts.
OUR VISION The Center for High Impact Philanthropy (CHIP) seeks to define the efficient frontier of philanthropy, where nonprofit financing is linked to potential for impact. High impact philanthropy means investing in those opportunities that maximize social impact given the amount of capital provided and the level of risk assumed. The Center's goal is to assist philanthropists to determine what impact they can expect for each charitable dollar, by using evidence and facts to inform the allocation of charitable gifts.
