San Francisco Bay Area native. I graduated from Pomona College in 2003 with a B.A. in cognitive science. I am interested in exploring the ways complexity principles are at work in everyday life, and learning how we can talk about the qualities of these systems without the esoteric jargon that seems to alienate people.
I always have more questions than answers, and I love being a connector of ideas, of people, and of resources. I'm currently reading and learning about how we can move from a paradigm of sustainability to one of abundance, as well as the role that design can play in realizing a better world.
"Holding each other close across differences, beyond conflict, through change, is an act of resistance." -- bell hooks
"In the human world, abundance does not happen automatically. It is created when we have the sense to choose community, to come together to celebrate and share our common store." -- Parker Palmer
"See deeply the beauty and interconnectedness of all life; then speak, think and act from what you see." -- Maggie Streincrohn Davis
"I am enthusiastic over humanity's extraordinary and sometimes very timely ingenuities. If you are in a shipwreck and all the boats are gone, a piano top buoyant enough to keep you afloat that comes along makes a fortuitous life preserver. But this is not to say that the best way to design a life preserver is in the form of a piano top. I think that we are clinging to a great many piano tops in accepting yesterday's fortuitous contrivings as constituting the only means for solving a given problem." -- Buckminster Fuller
