About

I am starting on my third life....not my third career but my third life during this one lifetime. I was (and am) a child of the 60s...and involved myself in all the pleasures and passions of the time. I learned a bit and experienced sooooooooooo very much.

I then became a bit more directional. I realized I really wanted to do some good in the world and needed to get some tools and skill to make that happen. I earned a Masters Degree in Humanistic Education and applied it to Client Centered Social Work/Counseling within the Aging network. I started out working one on one with Elders and now I work within the NY State Office for the Aging.

I have come to regret this change. I do my current work because my mortgage company insists I be gainfully employed. This is not a calling it is a paycheck. I have a few fulfilling moments which usually involve reminding bureaucrats that we exist to SERVE elderly folks and not to justify our own existence or the continuation of any political tenure. This has cost me many a promotion, however, the inner grin is worth it.

In my free time I do volunteer work with elders and I do wildlife rehabilatation. These activities give my life meaning and give me Joy.

I do care about this life (these lives) I am living and do want to have some positive impact on the lives of a few other folks. I have always been a front line kinda gal. I do not wish to be disenfranchised from the warmth of interconnectedness. This makes me happy and I am now at a time and place in my life where happy is what I want to be.
