This morning I heard that Pan9 http://www.myspace.com/pan9 and the awesome http://www.fluttreffect.com musicians Troy and Vessela lost their Boston home in a fire. Fluttr has been my favorite band these past few months, I can't stop listening to them.....and now I wonder, did they lose their instruments? Recordings? Can someone send me more news/details from those who were there? Hearing this made me so sad this morning....living across the continent, what to do?
BUY THREE COPIES OF THEIR NEW ALBUM, OF COURSE! http://www.10trecords.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=18
I want to encourage all of you to go buy this album -- this is probably the first time I've ever told anyone to go buy anything, but it would mean a lot to me (and to Fluttr) to build up a little extra warmth to replace what they've lost. To encourage those of you who have no money but like good music, I am offering up one of my three new copies up as a bounty for the best response to this question:
What are you offering up as a gift to the world for 2007?
And now for your musical interlude, lyrics from Fluttr Effect: Venus Loves Hades.

First, thank you for sharing this! I am so sorry to hear about it and send many warm loving vibes to all touched by the fire.
Jean's Gift to the world 2007
Love.
Love in the form of helping to birth a book on philanthropy and nurture the change in the field of philanthropy as well as social change.
Love in the form of holding those near me with honor and respect and gratitude as I see each of them as resourceful change agents for a regenerative future.
Love in the form of care of the self. It begins within and reflects outward in glowing warmth to encircle and warm others.
Love in the form of crossing boundaries heretofore seen or felt and now released.
Love in the form of entwining the brilliance and creativity and action-focus around me as a good gardener cares for the vines, helping foster conditions for blooming and fruiting.
Love in the form of accepting responsibility for my own transparency and openness, seeking to shine carefully so that others too might have the courage to shine.
Love in the form of attention directed to caring for what I would love to see more of and believe will help more of us thrive.
Love in the form of channeling the goddess, the flow of the universe, and both being my part and being a vehicle to something much larger than myself.
And most of all, love in the form of curiosity, for what arrives is so often much more magnificent than what my limited self can imagine.

Pan9 was destroyed and most of their possessions were lost (Pan9 is a great arts community in Boston, well-established for emerging talent). Vessela and Troy lost some to flooding but not to fire, they are in cleanup mode now to see what can be salvaged. One of the Pan9 residents was injured, the cause looks to be an electrical fire that started around 3AM Friday.
