I live in Portland, Oregon. Married to drummer and composer Obo Addy for over 26 years. Have worked with nonprofits since 1976 mostly in the arts. I became interested in multi-cultural art education in the late 70's and have always tried to bring cultural awareness through our programs. With our combined families, we have 8 children and 9 grandchildren. As I've gotten older, i think about the concept of slowing down, but it's a concept and will probably never happen. I keep finding things that interest me!! Now- Homowo African Arts and Cultures is a twenty year old organization. We still are growing and our main thrust has been to bring educational music and dance programs to people of all ages as a way to teach not just about a different culture and it's people- Ghana-- but more to teach about the similarities between people through their creative expressions. We are now looking to expand to Ghana and are looking at a number of possibilites- wanting to do what is needed not just what we want to do.
