About
I cannot fully and acurately describe myself but I know I am a social but hardworking fellow and a go getter.I am aged 42 and live in Nairobi the capital City of Kenya working in the Pharmaceutical sector. I am married with children and I enjoy interacting with people and making new friends.Apart from my official activities in the workplace,I participate in social activities aimed at community development in rural Kenya and I am already running a Community based organization called Konza Community Development Project which is involved in poverty eradication programmes through Dry Land Fruit Farming,Improved Dairy keeping,Water & sanitation, care and prevention of HIV Aids and working with the orphans through creation of sustainable social enterprises aimed at increasing household income. I would like to participate in more social development spheres in the society and invite likely minded people to join me and share ideas on poverty eradication which may lead to formation of an NGO to fully run projects in rural Kenya aimed towards poverty eradication and Education. On the part of Education, I have been thinking of setting up a vocational training centre (Youth Polytechnic)which will offer skills in Capentry, Tailoring ,Dressmaking and Driving for orphaned and poor children who cannot afford High School Education due to poverty. A proposal is already in place and the people are willing to provide land and labour. Anyone out there with ideas on how we can bring this vision into reality? The community members have agreed to name a classroom in the vocational centre to whoever will volunteer sponsorship in the process of construction and equiping the vocational training centre. This centre will basically work towards uplifting the girl child education and equip them with skills which will enable them be self employed and improve their incomes and those of their households and this will result in improved standards of living and eradicate poverty and deter antisocial behaviours like commercial sex, drugs and crime. So my vision is a place where the parents/Guardians are busy with fruit farming and their school going children are busy in a vocational institute gaining various skills. Please feel free to share with us this noble idea and task. Thanks to all on ONET.
