I'm wondering how many O.netizens are headed to N2 this year? I am going to use up 1,300 of my approximately 2,600 allowable CO2 emissions for air travel to hit netsquared this year - i missed it last year and have kind of sat on that regret ever since.
Anyway, so I'm wondering if there are any o.netizens who would consider sharing a room at the conference hotel, which turns out to be the Hilton which is about $70pp/pn. Alternatively, if anyone has a sofa I could sleep on, I'd more than gladly spring for a dinner - cooked, take-out, or home cooked :)
Look forward to hearing who is planning to attend anyway.

Looking forward to seeing all of you. As the conference gets closer it would be great to identify times that we can get together, even with those not attending Net2.

Yes, definitely. Perhaps y'all who know the area could plan a place and time for a lunch or dinner meetup?

If folks are arriving early enough on the 28th (Memorial Day), I'd be interested in coordinating a dinner in San Jose.

Fun! When is "early enough"? I haven't booked my flight into SF yet - I suspect I'll be driving down - how long is that: 45min?

I'll be driving down from SF early on Tues am if anyone wants a ride and doing the reverse Wednesday after the conference with the same offer.

Yes, from the airport.
It's closer to an hour from SF itself -
- and more if rush hour.

I am trying to arrive in plenty of time for dinner. I think Evonne is coming up early enough. I can check with Anne Marie and Michael M, since I need to ask them about their travel plans anyway. I am sure we would do better to have dinner as a way to chat together then try to do so during the event. Thomas, if you are still interested and willing.

Dinner sounds great. Not sure on my hotel plans just yet....likely the B&B for the 28th and 29th, heading up to San Francisco on the 30th. I may take someone up on that ride up to the city on the 30th......

Glad to see folks are going to be in town in time for dinner Monday... from the looks of it I see the following folks interested in dinner:
- Jean Russell
- Evonne Heyning
- Anne Marie Bellavance
- Lars Hasselblad Torres
- Thomas
- Haney
Anyone else? I'll pick a place in downtown San Jose that's close to public transit (the light rail) for ease of access.
If you'd like to join us, please post in this thread by end of day (whenever that is) Wednesday so I can make reservations.

Ok, so the dinner list is now up to eight:
- Jean Russell
- Evonne Heyning
- Anne Marie Bellavance
- Lars Hasselblad Torres
- Thomas
- Haney
- Michael Maranda
- Brian Lewis
Unfortunately, my schedule has changed. I'm no longer able to attend the NetSquared conference itself, so I look forward to catching up with folks at dinner the night before. Let me know if you're joining us, as there's still a couple days before making the reservation.

i'll arrive about noon on the 28th and stay in SF that night (will have a car though so dinner will still work out), stay at the Hilton San Jose the 29th, back in SF the 30th and leave mid-morning the 31st. Really looking forward to seeing all of you and spending some good time together as well as learning alot more about each of the 21 selected projects and their leaders, among them:
- TakingITGlobal
- YouthAssets
- Kabissa
- WiserEarth
- Farmer2Farmer
- Family Farmed
Finally, Peter Dietz a philanthropy consultant in Montreal has decided to try and raise an additional $500 for each of the groups. I like this idea, and hope you will too - maybe you can 'Chip In'?

Hello everyone! Looking forward to seeing you there.
We're staying at the Highland Inn (www.highlandinn-sanjose.com) for a reasonable rate. Brent Heyning my awesome handsome hubby will be with me for dinner on Monday Thomas, if we can add him to the RSVP list!

Awesome everyone.
I arrive at 4 on Saturday. Staying with Mon. She lives just 2.7 miles away. I leave at 7am on the 31st.
Thomas I am so sad that you can't make it to the event itself. I am really glad we get to see you at dinner!

I will be attending but my flight from NY will not arrive until very late on Monday. Previous commitment to participate in the Memorial Day Parade has me busy early in the day.

Now looks like I'll be driving down Monday from SF for the dinner (and staying down there Monday and Tues) in case anyone needs a ride in that direction.

I'll be at netSquared acting as an "Expert Reviewer." Part of my role will be to review four projects through the lens of "Social Impact".
Would you help me come up with the most helpful feedback for one or more of these projects re: Social Impact?
Four organizations that need feedback from me (us) are
- FamilyFarmed
- Grassroots
- Maps 2.0
- Taking IT Global
More info and the place to post is in this thread.
You don't need to know about them already - you can poke around and offer your impressions.
Thanks!

I hope we can all use this space to cooperate around this Lars.
So far, from what I know:
Likely Jean Russell and Julie Caldwell.
Also in the area visiting or living, we might be able to wrangle in to see us all: Brian Lewis, CM Magowan, Gina del Vechio, Jessica Margolin, Tony Deifell, Kachina Katrina, and surely there are more...
Where is the event again? Oh, yeah, San Jose (that means I just looked it up). My ex-girlfriend lives right outside San Jose. So I will likely stay with her, her fiance, and her lively pets. (I am coming back in July to be in her wedding.)
I would like to work on a document of what message we might want to share, so we can speak briefly to any of the onet projects related to this.
I get home tonight. I will check in then, and see where we are at.
